Posted - 08/09/2008 : 12:49:12 Where was Summer this year Up here in the NW, we have had very few hot and sunny days and now that we are into September, I doubt if we shall have any more It has been a waste of time planting up hanging baskets and window boxes, especially with busy lizzies (they've not been very busy ) I'm relieved that I didn't go mad buying new plants this year, as most of mine, were ones grow from cuttings from last year, or from ones that had been over-wintered on the windowsill in the spare bedroom In our daily paper there is a debate about this Summer and I cannot believe that some people wrote that we had had a good one Where on earth do they live or is it that they enjoy cold winds and rain all year round I for one have been suffering from this SAD syndrome since last year, as we didn't have settled weather in Tossa this June I think that we all envy those who have,or are just about to escape to sunnier climates

Posted - 09/09/2008 : 15:55:53 As mentioned in "General Chat"-if the weather is inclement, having tabbed through my bookmarked sites to see if there is anything of interest or anyone I can wind up (like Murray is a Scot now not a Brit ) I then just vanish up into the wood store, switch on "Steve Wright in the Afternoon" on R2 and carry on splitting. Was there ever a Carry On film of that name I muse? |
