Posted - 21/06/2008 : 15:07:06 Monserrat and her family have run this bar on C.Portal, in its various guises for many years Originally a bar , then when she was a little younger a restaurant, then back to a tapas bar ,then a takeaway and it is now being run by her eldest son Joseph and his wife and is now back as a tapas bar with a small restaurant attached serving light meals. On two cloudy days we lunched here - freshly prepared bocadillo atun con pan tomato and a large mozzarella ,tomato and tuna salad.Decent house wine and friendly service. Sit by the open front and watch the world go by. |

Posted - 06/07/2009 : 17:00:27 We had a quick lunch here and spied the new Menu el Dia at €13.90 so we returned the next evening to try it out. A really interesting menu has been put together,International and Catalan, 10 starters and 10 mains. Dishes included apples with goats cheese, grilled asparagus with iberico ham, scrambled eggs with garlic and asparagus shoots with prawns and the mains featured tunafish steak, salt cod spinach brandada, and stuffed aubergines amongst others. We had the scrambled egg and the asparagus with ham as starters and the tuna and cod as mains, a crema catalan and a rasberry ice for dessert and with bread and wine included in the price the total was just short of €30- a real treat, lovely cooking and a bargain. |
