Posted - 26/07/2007 : 10:23:14 We managed to see the Corpus Christi flowers etc. this year. Although we have seen it many times before, every time it has had a magical appeal to it. The small children walking through the flowers, boys in their Sunday best long trousers and the girls in long white dresses, all carrying either candles or lilies is very moving. I took quite a few photos which I have e-mailed to Sarah,so maybe she could make them available for you all to see, even if they are not as good as they could have been, with a better camera and a steadier hand

It's hard though, isn't it, to get to see all the great celebrations in Tossa? It'd be great to get everything in, like the Fisherman's breakfast, Corpus Christi, San Juan and San Pedro.
Oh well, keep buying the Lottery tickets...
PS Congrats on becoming a Platinum member! I'd better watch out otherwise you might catch up with me!! |

Posted - 25/07/2007 : 19:34:16 Yes you're right. As Easter is early next year (Easter Sunday is 23 March) that means Corpus Christi falls early too. It's always nine weeks after Maundy Thursday.
This is the day Tossa, and many other places throughout Spain, have the flower mats and the children make their First Holy Communion. |
