Having returned from Tossa on the 20th september, we were lucky enough to be there when they opened the lighthouse at the top of the Vila Vela. It was very interesting and well laid out. There will be a small bar opening soon. There are also toilets and a small shop as you come out of the virtual demonstration about the history of the lighthouse which was very well done. It was also air conditioned which was great as it was very warm outside. We went around with a mix of people of different ages and nationalities and everyone came out and seemed to be impressed with it. There are decked viewing platforms with spectacular views all around the coast. After 12 years of visiting Tossa and climbing up to the lighthouse it is great that they have finally done something of interest with it, and you will be able to get refreshments up there soon. We didn't have to pay on the Sunday as it was free. I don't know if there will be a charge to go around the virtual studio but it is worth it. There was also a mini bus that took you up for a small fee from the hotel Capri. We enjoyed it.
Very useful information. More about the lighthouse and the opening ceremony in the October newsletter, plus some info will be added to the website soon.
