The Forums are set up so that every membership application has to be manually approved. This is to prevent spammers registering and making nuisance postings.
Around 50 applications are made every day, sadly many of these are from spammers. The spammers use very odd user names and are notable by their non-standard e-mail addresses.
When scanning through so many applications, if a genuine user name or e-mail address doesn't stand out as being legitimate, then it could easily get overlooked and deleted.
Unfortunately, sometimes new members choose really odd user names, and as a result their application is refused because it's impossible to tell if they are genuine or not.
So it would be much appreciated if, when registering, you could use as normal a user name as possible. Naturally you are not expected to use your real name, just something that sounds legitimate.
Thank you. |
