Hotels
Hotels are classified from one to five stars. The ratings are granted by the regional governments throughout Spain and standards vary between regions. Here is a general guide:
5 star - air conditioning in public areas and private rooms, central heating, private bathrooms, telephone, lift, lounge, parking
4 star – air conditioning in public areas and private rooms unless the climate dictates only central heating is required, lounge, private bathrooms, hot and cold water, telephone, lift, parking
1-3 star – air conditioning or heating according to the climate, lounge, private bathroom, hot and cold water, telephone
Services will vary from hotel to hotel but generally in Tossa you can expect a high standard.
Many of the hotels with bars and evening entertainment are open to non-residents, the only thing you would not be permitted to do is use the pool and other leisure facilities.
